Tinos, Komi
Provincial Tinos-Kellion Street
A dovecote within the traditional settlement of Komi, in need of repair while respecting the architecture of the building and the landscape. There is the possibility to create a two-story residence of 94 m² with easy access via a paved path and close to the provincial highway. Dovecotes are unique examples of folk architecture, with the first written mention in 1726 regarding a now-ruined dovecote in the area of Spilia near Komi. They were used for food and fertilizer. There are about 800-1300 dovecotes, mainly stone buildings made of schist, consisting of two floors. The lower floor is used as a storage area and the upper as the residence of the pigeons.
