Pelargos, Metsovou 1

The construction company Pelargos, established for more than 40 years in the field of construction, undertook the construction of the building at Metsovou 1 in Glyfada. A residential project of construc- tion excellence with premium energy specifications, characterised by its modern architectural design. The building is located in a particularly favourable location of Glyfada in a residential zone with plenty of open public spaces, parks and squares that is in close proximity to the commercial center of Glyfada. At the same time, the building belongs to an area of the coastal front of the Southern Suburbs, benefiting from the amenities of the Athenian Riviera and in close proximity to landmarks of the wider area such as the Hellinikon Project an urban regeneration pro- ject. More specifically, the building at Metsovou 1 is a residential project located on a lot with three open sides, giving it an unob- structed view of the sea and the beach front, while at the same time distancing it from the surrounding buildings. Its unique architec- tural design combines horizontal and vertical geometric elements with organic and curved forms and in combination with high quality materials, creates a composition of high aesthetics. Both in the floor plan and in the elevations, the focal design intent is the fluidity of the form and the partial accentuation of the vertical elements. At plan level, the building is placed at a distance from the street limits allowing the utilization of extensive green space on the ground floor, while the interior with its optimal layout organizes the living spaces, facilitates the transitions from one space to the other and maximizes the functionality by hosting multiple scenarios of everyday life. Finally, the high energy standards of the project and the applied construction technology promote ecological awareness, contribut- ing to the improvement of the daily life and lifestyle of the residents.
